Bio

Ewa Rossano was born in 1973 in Wrocław, Poland. She graduated in Painting from Wroclaw Academy of Fine Arts and studied Sculpture and Glass at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin (HEAR) in Strasbourg. She further enriched her artistic education at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. This multifaceted educational path is reflected in the interdisciplinary nature of her work, where diverse artistic traditions, formal languages, and cultural sensibilities intersect.

Her works have been exhibited in numerous countries across Europe and beyond, including France, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Iceland, Morocco, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Norway, the United States, Israel, Argentina, and French Polynesia. They have also been presented in venues of particular symbolic significance, such as the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, UNESCO, the OECD, the Ossolineum, the Henryk Tomaszewski Theatre Museum, and the Reykjavík City Museum. Rossano is the creator of several prestigious awards, including the Angelus Central European Literary Award, the Prix International Jean Rey – European Parliament Humanity Award, and the Audentia Award (Eurimages, Council of Europe).

Ewa Rossano’s artistic practice evolves at the intersection of matter and light, permanence and fragility. Her artistic language is shaped through the tension between bronze and glass—two elements that, in her work, do not oppose one another but remain in constant dialogue. Bronze carries the weight of memory and history, while glass, often created using the pâte de verre technique, introduces transparency, color, and light that seem to pulse from within the form itself.
