Bio

Mirosław Machalski – born in 1971, is a freelance photographer.
He graduated from the University of Economics in Wrocław. His works can be found in the collections of many cultural institutions and museums, including the collection of the National Museum in Wrocław, the Department of Photography and Intermedia of the Museum of Contemporary Art in the Four Domes Pavilion, and the collection of the Karkonosze Museum.

At the beginning of the 1980s, he attended classes at the studio of Ewa Andrzejewska at the House of Culture in Zgorzelec. This early education contributed to the development of his ability to photograph with the idea that the shot should not be corrected by framing and should be transferred onto paper in the form of an entire negative frame while maintaining the intended composition. His works are set in the convention of humanistic reportage, street photography – where the subject is always a human being concerning his surroundings, not posing for the lens.
